Switching from 1.8.9 to 1.21.11
If you've been playing Hypixel Skyblock on 1.8.9 with mods like NEU, SkyblockAddons, OptiFine, and Patcher, upgrading to 1.21.11 can feel intimidating. This guide maps every mod you rely on to its modern replacement -- all of which are pre-installed in our modpack.

Common concerns from 1.8.9 players
"But 1.8.9 combat feels better"
Hypixel uses its own combat system regardless of your client version. You're not getting 1.8.9 combat on Hypixel -- you're getting Hypixel combat. Switching to 1.21 changes nothing about how PvE and PvP feel in Skyblock.
"My FPS will drop"
The opposite. Sodium + Lithium + C2ME + Entity Culling delivers significantly higher FPS than OptiFine ever did on 1.8.9. Players routinely report going from 80 FPS to 200+ FPS.
